The Method

Pioneered in 1920 by the legendary physical trainer Joseph Pilates, this unique method of fitness consisting of over 1000 exercises, is based on six fundamental principles which encourages harmonious body conditioning for rapid, visible and sustainable results.

Pilates is taught at several progressive levels either as private classes (generally given on different specific apparatuses; Reformer, Cadillac, High chair, Wunda chair, Baby chair...) or as collective classes (exercises performed on a mat). Pilates is a genuine, personalized and targeted series of exercises which harmonizes mind and body. Special attention is given to working the deep abdominal, buttock and lumbar muscles, called the “Center or Powerhouse” which allows the body to move as a entity with control, suppleness and strength. 

It is the quality of the exercises that is important rather than the quantity; the non repetitive routines are adapted to each individual according to his level, physical physiology, sports background and state of health.
